Lilian Chepngetich graduated for her Bachelor of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management at the Chuka university with a scholarship of Friends for Life. She dreams of opening her own company in fashion and design one day. We interviewed Lilian about her background, her dreams and her passion.

Where did you grow up and in what kind of circumstances?

I grew up in a village called Labuiywet in Eldoret. I have five siblings; I am the third born in the family. I went to school with lots of difficulties because my family was not well off since both of my parents were unemployed. Food supply for the whole year was not always guaranteed.

What are you most proud of during your school career?
I am proud how I utilized my time in school, I participated in co curriculum activities that helped improve my interpersonal skills.

What are your dreams for the future?
My dream is to establish my own business specifically in fashion and design and inspire more people and be a consultant in the field of business.

How has Friends for Life helped you to achieve your goals?
I appreciate the financial support from Friends for Life that enabled me to complete my degree course which is now helping me to shape my future. In addition, the organization has been holding my hand even after my studies, inquiring about my progress and giving information on that helps me find direction in life. Friends for Life has been organizing amazing forums for get together e.g. interpersonal skills training, beach clean-up activities and many others.
