David Warui Gachinga, graduate in BsC Mechanical Engineering has always been interested in this field, perhaps because his father was an electrician. He could however not continue his education after secondary school due to lack of money in the family.
David Grew up in Kawangware, Nairobi, with his two siblings. He tells us the following about his background and his dreams:
What are you most proud of during your school career?
The opportunity of serving my fellow students in College and Department Representative in the Student Union.
What are your dreams for the future?
My dream is to build a career founded on the pillars of integrity, inclusiveness and unbiased view of people from all walks of life, aiming at being of service to the community by helping others better their lives and achieve their dreams and visions.
Do you currently have a job? If yes, in which organization and in what function?
I am currently on contract working as a Projects Delivery Engineer, offering support to my more experienced colleagues as I learn from them at Unilever Kenya Limited in Industrial Area Nairobi, Kenya.
How has Friends for Life helped you to achieve your goals?
I wouldn’t be where I am today if Friends for Life hadn’t shouldered the responsibility of paying for my education. By the grace of God, I am.
We are very proud of David and wish him lots of success for the future.
