On Wednesday the 6th of June 9 students studying in the Netherlands, Utrecht, will participate in a row competition and fundraise for friends for Life by doing so. The competition they will participate in is the largest row competition in the Netherlands, the ‘EY-Parthenon Ringvaart Regatta’. This is a rowing marathon of a 100 kilometers through among other places Leiden, Amsterdam, Haarlem and Delft. The students, all ladies, are members of the student association U.S.R ‘Triton’ and they will be supported by Fiona Verbruggen and coached by Jordi de Graaf. The ladies train 3 times a week and the aim is to row the required 100 kilometer in a bit more than 10 hours. They do this not only to become and keep #fitgirls, but also for Friends for Life. ‘We are all able to study and we want to contribute to the improvement of education of Kenyan students as well so that they can also get this opportunity’.
